Summer is coming. And so is the rest of the year. What will you be doing? Here are my plans:
In a few weeks:
Things are going to really start picking up speed in the next two weeks. The summer is nearing and people are beginning to get the itch. More importantly I am beginning to get the itch. Fantasies of blue skies, crisp days of sunshine, warmer temperatures and more hudmidity become reality. The Anchorage Market begins May 10! I am more excited about the Market this year because Jessica and Matt will be there featuring their latest genuis product: The Perfect Cookie Photography. I can't wait because I will get to be a part of the business- either as Sam's playfriend during the day, or fill in cookie operator. We will see.
May 3rd I am scheduled to go on a hike south in Russian Lake. I need to do more research on it, but it is with a local Meet Up group. The hike is said to be realively easy, perfect for building up for more strenous hikes for the summer. This is what I really want to do this summer. Hike and camp.
Somewhere in the middle of May, Jude will be returning to Alaska. How wonderful it will be to have her back here.
In July My Ben is coming back to Alaska. I can't wait to see him. The last time we met up was in Las Vegas last April. It is always so good to be with old friends.
My birthday is in July so that is always nice. I was thinking of working in the Crow Creek Pass during my birthday weekend. With Zavacky's wedding "offically" on the 11th (party on the 12th), I think the month has already filled up quickly.
Then August becomes fall for two weeks and September remains... But then, OCTOBER! I have bought a ticket home for the Iowa State Homecoming Celebration Oct. 22. Arriving in Chicago, I will be in Ames for the festivites, hopefully get to see the House and meet the girls who live there now. I hope to get to visit with my family and spend time with them. My sister will close on a house in Ames at the end of April. I am so proud of her and look forward to seeing her place, though not sure I should stay there.
October 30 I am meeting Sommer in Seattle for four days. This is going to be so much fun! I have never been to Seattle and neither has she, so it will be lots of fun running around places and figuring it out.
Life is good. I am a lucky person to have gifts and good people around me. I predict incredibly positive things happening in the next few months. I can feel the anticipation and innate anxiety, but everything comes at the right time, so I know I must wait patiently, but with intent.
I am in a good place and I strive everyday to stay humble and aware of my surroundings, and never take it for granted. This next year has plenty of amazing things in store, and I am ready for a fun and meaningful ride.
Onward!
